Laat je betoveren door deze muzikale tekenfilm en in dromerige kerstsfeer brengen in het oudste monument in Noord, het Buikslotermeerkerkje dat sinds jaren een bloeiend cultureel centrum is. De Sneeuwman is een Britse kinderfilm uit 1982, gebaseerd op het boek van Raymond Briggs uit 1978. De film kreeg in 1983 een Oscar-nominatie, in de categorie Beste geanimeerde korte film. De muziek die voor deze film werd geschreven door Howard Blake, wordt live tijdens de film gespeeld door Het Amsterdam Youth Symphony Orchestra (AYSO). Je steunt dus ook een goed doel (een jeugdorkest) door naar deze voorstelling te gaan. Ticketprijs is inclusief koffie/thee. Na de voorstelling (van 50 minuten) kunnen we wat gaan eten/drinken in de buurt, aan het Buikslotermeerplein (bijv. bij https://www.cocobyvh.nl/).

The music, which was composed for this (X-mas)film, will be played live by the youth orchestra from South Amsterdam (but the venue is in the North). The song in the movie which was the leitmotiv, got well-known all over the world at the time:. The movie got an Oscar nomination in 1983 in the category Best animated short movie. There is no text; so the story is shown by only sound and images. The ticket is including tea/coffee but excluding reservation costs. The venue is very pictoresque; a church with wooden ceiling from 1709. A good way to get into the X-mas atmosphere.
